RAD – UX + Frontend

Designing a digital hub for students, teachers, and academic partners.

Project Overview

RAD (Red Académica de Diseño) is a digital platform created to share recent and past projects with students, teachers, and associates, while also providing a space to discover open job opportunities.
My role combined UX design and frontend development, ensuring both usability and technical execution.

The Challenge

The main challenge was to design a platform that could organize diverse academic content — from projects to job postings — in a clear and accessible way, while staying visually engaging for a wide range of users.

The Process

  • Information Architecture – Defined navigation flows for students, teachers, and partners.
  • Design System – Created a universal grid and reusable structures for consistency across pages.
  • Development – Implemented the platform using Drupal CMS, building the frontend from scratch with pure CSS Grid and custom jQuery functions (no frameworks).

The Solution

The result was a modular and scalable platform, designed with a clean structure that highlights academic projects while remaining intuitive to navigate. The custom grid system ensured flexibility for future growth and new content types.

Outcome / Results

The final platform provided a professional, centralized space for academic collaboration. It streamlined access to projects and opportunities, reinforcing RAD’s role as a hub for the design community.
