Designing a digital product experience for students, teachers, and staff.
Project Overview
A redesign of Universidad El Bosque’s digital experience, focused on creating a clearer, more contemporary, and easier-to-navigate platform for prospective students, current students, faculty, and the wider university community.
The project combined a new visual direction with a content architecture designed to make academic programs, admissions processes, campus life, and institutional services easier to access. The solution translated the University’s identity into a consistent, approachable, and functional digital environment.
The Challenge
The website brought together a large volume of information, multiple audiences, and several entry points. The main challenge was to organize this complexity without losing visibility of key content or the personality of the brand.
The redesign needed to create a more intuitive navigation system, improve the visual hierarchy of information, and establish graphic resources that would help users quickly identify each section of the university ecosystem.
The Process
- Information Architecture – Defined navigation flows for students, teachers, and admin staff.
- Design System – Created a universal grid and reusable structures for consistency across pages.
- Development – Implemented the platform using Drupal CMS, building the frontend from scratch with pure CSS Grid and custom jQuery functions (no frameworks).
The Solution
A new interface direction was developed around a clear navigation structure, consistent visual components, and content organized around the needs of each audience.
The experience was supported by a flexible graphic system that could represent the University’s different areas, from admissions and academic programs to events, student life, faculties, and campus services.
Outcome / Results
The redesign proposed a more organized, accessible, and brand-aligned digital experience. By combining information architecture, interface design, and a custom icon system, it transformed complex institutional content into clearer user journeys for the university community.
